Bagels as they eagerly await the announcement of the secret theme at the third game jam hosted by Jolly, a local development studio. A game jam is an event during which participants must create a video game that satisfies a particular theme within a time limit. Student teams designed multiplayer video games over the course of the weekend to present at a showcase. Read more

12/21/2012 - A key component in the strategy for the future of the Department of Computer Science is to build an excellence fund that will allow this department to respond to its rapidly changing needs and demographics. This fall, progress was made towards that goal when Qualcomm, a long-time supporter of the department and frequent recruiter of its graduates, stepped forward to make an $80,000 commitment to that fund. 12/07/2012 - “Information is power.” Who knows who first said it, but everyone in business knows it to be true. As a result, business leaders constantly seek better information to give them competitive edge and help them manage their businesses. With the maturing of the Information Age, data is generated in volumes that were all but inconceivable just a few short years ago. Internal systems, vendor systems, telephone systems and the Web generate data at dizzying speeds. The challenge is to turn the data into the information that companies can use and leaders seek.  Read more
