03/24/2012 - Yahoo! Hack U is two days of learning, hacking and fun. Yahoo! Hack U came to UTCS March 22 & 23rd. Attendees at this year's hack heard interesting tech talks, received hacking tips and lessons, and took part in hands-on coding workshops where they worked with cutting-edge technology. Read more
02/08/2012 - The 2012 CNS Career Fair, held on February 2nd at the Frank Erwin Center, had 126 employers in attendance seeking candidates for full-time, part-time, internship and co-op positions. Computer Science students and alumni were in high demand, with 91% (115) of employers interested in them. Seventeen of those employers were our Friends of Computer Science (FoCS) partners. FoCS partners at the Career Fair were recognized with a special FoCS ribbon to drive CS students to their booths. Read more

09/21/2011 - Two UTCS teams made it to the final round of Yahoo!'s Open Hack All Stars event in New York City. The All Stars event was made up of winning teams from Yahoo! Open Hack and HackU events from around the world. A total of 40 hackers competed in this first ever event. Teams were competing for a $10,000 prize and the opportunity to present their hack to VCs, CEOs, and other Yahoo! senior executives and partners. Read more

06/15/2011 -   IBM Corp. will celebrate its 100-year anniversary Thursday an unusually long tenure for a company in the ever-changing technology industry. Austin has been part of IBM's history for less that half of that time, but the city has become one of the company's most important research and development hubs. With about 6,000 employees, Austin is IBM's second-largest single site in the U.S., although it's still less than 2 percent of the company's 400,000 employees worldwide. Read more
