UTCS Alum Daniel Morris is scheduled to speak at the Cloud Expo New York about "High Performance Database Hosting in the Cloud." He will explain why databases in the cloud are a reality and how attendees can benefit by implementing them. He will cover built-in redundancy and automated configurations as well as how using container-based virtualization will make your cloud database become blazingly fast - without locking your data into a proprietary platform. Daniel, a Senior Product Manager for Rackspace, will close by showing some real-world examples utilizing this new technology available from Rackspace.

Daniel received his BS in Computer Science and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a Sr. Product Manager who works in the Rackspace product organization focusing on cloud platform services. He is passionate about building great software services and is excited about the new cloud products under development at Rackspace. He started his career working in software development before Cloud became "cool," contributing to the testing, design, development, and management of IBM's WebSphere Application Server.
