Daniel Diaz

Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Daniel Diaz is a post-doc at The University of Texas at Austin's Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning and leads the Deep Proteins group. With dual B.S. degrees from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. from UT Austin in chemistry, he focuses on merging chemical biology and machine learning to develop frameworks to guide protein engineering. Daniel collaborates with experimentalists to apply machine learning to various biotechnology applications, founding Intelligent Proteins, LLC, to develop protein-based therapeutics and enzymes.
