This year the CS 378 course won the 2015 Tower Award for Civic Engagement. The undergrad computer science course taught by Karen Landolt focuses on behavioral ethics in the digital age. 

The Tower Awards are presented annually to honor and highlight excellence in service among the students, faculty and staff at The University of Texas at Austin as well as partners in the community.  Since 1992, these awards have been presented to honor the dedication of the Longhorn community. 

Each year, numerous Longhorns give their time, talent, resources and voice to help strengthen their local community. From their they are nominated and reviewed by a selection committee.Nominations from local non-profit organizations, community members, UT faculty, staff, students, and registered student organizations were submitted and reviewed. From there a decisions is made based on the recommendation and just how much there is a community impact. 

Landolt hopes that the course winning this award will convince companies to adopt the course model that is used in the class. She also hopes to teach the class again next spring. 

The course will be honored at the official Tower Awards ceremony held Wednesday April 29th.
