Upon joining, they will be inducted into the national honor society at the UT chapter's Spring reception on Sunday, May 8, in the in the Ballroom of the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center.

UTCS congratulates the seven computer science majors who were recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa at its Fall meeting. Upon joining, they will be inducted into the national honor society at the UT chapter's Fall reception on Sunday, December 6, in the in the Texas Union Ballroom.
The newly-elected computer science majors are as follows: James Courtney, Keith Epley, James Groth, Shane Pope, Elben Shira, Adam Wilkinson and Jeffery Zhu.

The 2008 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference was held in Keystone, Colorado from October 1-4. Thirteen undergraduate and graduate women and two representatives from the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin were able to attend the event thanks to corporate sponsors Lockheed Martin and Yahoo! and UTCS Faculty sponsors James C.
